With the Bulls‘ second leading scorer, Carlos Boozer, out with a sore hamstring, Taj Gibson and company stepped up in an attempt to put an end to the Bucks recent reign over Chicago. Having lost two of three games to Milwaukee already this season including a blown 27-point lead, the Bulls knew all too well that they couldn’t let up if they wanted to tie the series at two games apiece.

After uplifting wins against the Nets, Knicks and Heat over the past few weeks, uncharacteristic losses to non-contenders and blown leads have kept the Bulls in the middle of the pack in the eastern conference. As frustrating as this may be, there isn’t much more we can hope for as the Bulls basically aim to tread water until Derrick Rose returns sometime after the all-star break. That being said, the Bulls entered play Wednesday night only half a game back in the central standings with a two and a half game cushion over the visiting Milwaukee Bucks.

It’s seems like everyone in the basketball world is aware the Chicago Bulls are out of title contention this year, except for head coach Tom Thibodeau. Game after game the Bulls milk their starters as if they didn’t already have an injury prone team. It has become clear Thibodeau needs to stop playing for every regular season win and start developing chemistry among the bench unit.

In Friday’s preseason game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Bulls shot poorly from the field and subsequently found themselves in a 21-point hole at halftime. The Bulls dominated during the third quarter and even out-rebounded Cleveland 53-34 on the night, but were unable to overcome the deficit and lost to the Cavs by three points.
The Bulls shooting woes continued Saturday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves, especially with Luol Deng and Rip Hamilton sitting with minor injuries. This time the Bulls managed to keep the game close until the fourth quarter when they lost the lead for good on an 11-0 scoring run lead by Minnesota‘s Alexey Shved.

Consensus #1 Pick, 100% sure he will be selected here and has not worked out for any other team.

I think MJ will take MKG under his wing and try to develop him into a star. Has the attributes to defend, rebound and attack the basket, however he has an unusual shooting stroke. With the help of MJ, this can be corrected at the age of 18, as he has plenty of time to develop. May reach for Beal for greater offensive power or a big man in Robinson.

When the dust settled after the trade deadline passed, the always mediocre Milwaukee Bucks (21-24) looked more buffed up and better than their record indicates. With an explosive back court of point guard Brandon Jennings and newly acquired Monta Ellis, the Bucks are surprisingly the hottest team in the East, winners of six straight, all victories of 100 or more points. For the Portland Trail Blazers (21-25) the hangover of the long road trip were lingering, with only a day of rest the Blazers looked deflated against the Bucks who on the other side had three days of rest and were quite simply the better team tonight, their defense suffocating every Portland possession while shooting the lights out at the Rose Garden and earn the 116-87 win and blow out the home team by 29 points. Even a surprise return of Brandon Roy sitting court side wasn’t enough to spur the emotions of his former teammates. The question now is when can Roy suit back up?

While all of the focus leading up the the NBA’s March 15 trade deadline continues to be on Dwight Howard, there are other teams out there who actually serious about getting deals done.
In fact, the first big deal to transpire occurred Tuesday night when the Milwaukee Bucks traded Andrew Bogut and Stephen Jackson to the Golden State Warriors for forward Ekpe Udoh, center Kwame Brown and high-scoring guard Monta Ellis.
For Warriors fans, on the surface this seems like a bit of a head-scratcher.

11 days ago the Charlotte Bobcats began an important four-game winning streak that instantly put their name into the playoff mix.
They started it off with impressive back-to-back victories over the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks, followed by two more wins against the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Prior to the Knicks game, most had already forgotten about Charlotte, including one Yahoo! Sports headline story that read: “Last Ones In” with a quad-screen picture of the Grizzlies Zach Randolph, Bucks Brandon Jennings, Pacers Danny Granger and Rockets Kevin Martin. The subtitle read: “The chase for the final Western playoff spot is coming down to Memphis vs. Houston. Out East, it’s Indiana vs. Milwaukee.”
