The Sixers have finally clinched a playoff berth and that makes two years in a row now that they have done so. They also have clinched there first above .500 record season since 2004-05.

The other day after that embarrassing loss to the Raptors, I was ready to enter any room and start swinging not really caring who or what I hit. I was that pissed off. Who is to blame really? I have blamed Doug for most of the Sixers struggles of late with his use of players while they are on the court and his rotation of them. Doug has been very stubborn.

Adversity is a funny thing, you either rise to it or you succumb to it. Sixers have had a solid season overall, filled with highs and lows. Though for the first time all a year they face real adversity. They now trail the Celtics by a game in the Atlantic and they have dropped to 7th seed. Umm, that either means they will face the Bulls or Miami again.
By the way, that Wizards game was easily the worst game of the year bar none. Collins has said in the past few weeks that the Sixers have had an odd disconnect to their team right now on the court. Watching that Wizards game, he is exactly right.

The Sixers have had us on a roller coaster ride so far this season. They got off to hot 20-9 start, then going 7-12 since then. It has been a up and down season for some players as well. Hawes had that great start to the first month of the season only to get hurt. He is now just starting to get regular time again. Turner, well, do not get me started on that situation. I could write about a 1000 words on that and how Doug Collins refuses to use him. Jrue has played well lately, but he has had an up and down season too. You can say the same for Elton Brand though he has been better lately. Meeks is hit or miss this year. Iguodala has been good all year long though there is one guy that has been the glue for this team. Thaddeus Young.

I was sitting on my couch this weekend, with my cheddar gold fish in hand, watching the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Miami Heat. I started to think, how do you take on the best team and win? The elite teams are like sharks, they smell blood and attack. They know they have you beat in pregame warm-ups. You can call it whatever you want: swagger, cockiness, intimidation, or just plain old confidence.

The trade deadline has finally past and we still have to wait another year for the Dwight Howard saga to end. I swear, the past two weeks have been like a “Saturday Night Live” skit with him. There where some head scratching moves at the deadline, especially that three team trade involving Nene to Wizards, JaVale MeGee to the Nuggets and Nick Young to the Clips. Then you have our old friend Billy King giving up a Okur, Shawne Williams and a first round draft pick for Gerald Wallace. By the way, that pick is only protected if it is a top 3. Billy, you will never learn.

Is it me or does Evan Turner just bring a different element to the Philadelphia Sixers starting lineup?
These last three games have been interesting to watch with the last two especially standing out. What am I talking about? The last two have been fun as hell.
Now with Turner finally getting his chance to play meaningful minutes the next item up is to see if Turner, Jrue Holiday and Andre “Iggy” Iguodala can coexist.
Most people have always felt that the Sixers would have to trade “Iggy” or Turner because of their similarities in how they play.

There he was dribbling down the court with the sweat dripping down his forehead… I was trying to think of a great opening line. That is all I got. Moving on. This was supposed to be the breakout year for Jrue. Most of the experts in the offseason where pointing at him as the key player for the Sixers. Well, it really has not panned out the way people, including me, thought it was going too.

Alright there fellas and lovely women, we are 2 weeks away from the NBA trade deadline. The main question for the Sixers is whether to keep this roster together or try to make a splash. Sixers GM, Rod Thorn, has said all along that he would like to keep this team intact this year and would not just make a move just to make a move. He also has said that if the right deal comes along for the right player and the right price he would do it. This year really is about growth, but the Sixers have made us forget that at times with the wins adding up. I have seen myself get caught up in it as well.

Game Preview: Chicago Bulls vs. Philadelphia 76ers
Tip off: Sunday, 7 PM EST
The Chicago Bulls, fresh off their impressive road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night, will face another road test against the Philadelphia 76ers in a conference clash this Sunday night.
Chicago looks to add to their NBA best 16-6 road game record against a good Philadelphia home team, and possibly a playoff preview.
Derrick Rose, averaging 22.4 points & 7.6 assists, leads a hot Bulls team riding a 5 game winning streak playing as a cohesive unit on the court. Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer continue to play well and show they now have on-court chemistry, resulting in better offensive and defensive play this season.
