Toronto Raptors

News, commentary and ticket information for the Toronto Raptors

After four impressive games—and one ridiculous 38-point effort against the Los Angeles Lakers—it’s safe to say that if there were any Jeremy Lin doubters still in existence, they have been converted after witnessing Tuesday night’s performance.

With the game knotted up at 87, Lin sunk the game-winning three with less than a second to play, as the New York Knicks rallied to beat the Toronto Raptors 90-87, extending their winning streak to six games.

Oh, and in case your wondering, yes, Lin had another game in which he had at least 20 points. This time put up 27 to go along with a career-high 11 assists in his first game since being named Eastern Conference player of the week.

The Raptors gave Bryan Colangelo an extension, and the question is:

Why?

Well, it’s probably not shocking that a bad executive is getting an extension for doing a bad job.  He signs Hedo Turkoglu, and runs the team so badly that Hedo wants out.

The Raptors are a lottery team, again, and I don’t think they’ll ever make a good lottery pick.  Do you trust them to do it right?  I know I don’t.

It just shocks me that poorly run teams don’t change things.  These are rich executives who can afford to not work for a while.  Let them go and work it out with someone else.

Trade deadline report

by Ben Millikan on February 24, 2011

The Memphis Grizzlies weren’t quick enough to the table. Or maybe it was the Pacers fault. But the supposed deal that would’ve sent O.J. Mayo to Indiana wasn’t finalized before the 3pm Eastern Time cutoff. With that being said, here is a quick list of all the important names that are currently on the move after a crazy week of trades.

  • Nazr Mohammed to the Thunder.
  • Marquis Daniels to the Kings.
  • Aaron Brooks to the Suns for Goran Dragic.
  • Semih Erden and Luke Harangody to the Cavaliers.
  • Gerald Wallace to the Blazers.
