The New York Knicks are getting ready to increase prices on season tickets for next year by an average of 49%, and as much as 100% for some premium tickets.
One reason for massive price hike is that Madison Square Garden (MSG) is undergoing a $850 million renovation project. Ticket prices for MSG’s other sports team, the New York Rangers will also see a significant ticket increase next season.
“We hope there’s no sticker shock. We think it’s fair,” Scott O’Neil, the president of MSG Sports, told the New York Times. “The prices were baked in before Carmelo (Anthony) got here.”

The Cleveland Cavaliers who have lost an NBA-record 25 consecutive games and are an almost incomprehensible 1-35 in their last 36 games, almost half of the 82-game season. To put the stretch into perspective, no NBA team has ever won less than nine games in a full season.
The Cavs woes are not limited to on the court. They are having trouble getting people to come and watch them. Officially Cleveland is seeing just a small decrease in attendance this reason. They are averaging 20,417 fans through 22 home games, according to the league, down from 20,562 last season.

The Christmas Day game between the current NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers and the LeBron James-fueled Miami Heat is one like none other this upcoming basketball season.
