WARNING: The following video is not for the faint of heart.
That brutal injury suffered by former Louisville point guard Edgar Sosa left some players in tears. Sosa’s injury occurred during the Dominican Republic’s win over Panama on Monday during the 2011 FIBA Americas Championship.
The injury was a complete break, which should keep him out of the rest of the tournament. Sosa’s loss is a big one for a Dominican Republic squad on the edge of olympic qualification.
The Dominican Republic—led by coach John Calipari, Hawks forward Al Horford and Pistons guard Charlie Villanueva—is now 3-1 in group play following the win over Panama.
