It turns out Metta World Peace isn’t so peaceful.

The game Sunday between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder may have finished with a thrilling double-overtime win for the Lakers, but it is the vicious elbow shot that World Peace delivered to OKC guard James Harden that everyone is talking about today.

After throwing down a hard dunk near the end of the second quarter, World Peace started to beat his chest in celebration before striking Harden, who was behind him, in the back of the head with his left elbow.

Harden was diagnosed with a concussion and Ron-Ron—I mean, World Peace was ejected from the game.

A poll on USAToday.com showed 57 percent of the nearly 12,000 voting believed that World Peace should be suspended for the remainder of the season and the rest of the playoffs. Another 24 percent had it at 10 games.

World Peace has since taken to Twitter to apologize, citing that the “celebration of the dunk was too much” and that “he didn’t even see James.”

Uh-huh.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2010-11 NBA Citizenship Award winner.
