My 5 On 5 Analysis, Breaking Down The Heat And Bulls

by Kiro on April 24, 2012

In a story on their web site Monday, EPSN asked five questions about the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls heading into the NBA playoffs. Here are my answers to their questions

1. Will the Bulls or Heat go further in this year’s playoffs?

Bulls. The Bulls have much more depth then the Heat. There is atleast four players on the Bulls bench that perform better then most bench players would. Most teams have one or two guys that can bring something to the game and the Bulls do it like no other team staying at a very consistent level. CJ Watson and John Lucas help give Derrick Rose the breaks he needs. Taj Gibson helps Boozer greatly. The Heat really don’t have much to fall back on even in their starting lineup besides there Big 3 in LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Besides those three and a small amount of help from Mario Chalmers, there isn’t much more to rely on.

2. Why would the Bulls be better prepared for the Heat this year?

Tom Thibodeau was new last year to the Bulls. The roster is basically the same as last year, Richard Hamilton at shooting guard is the biggest change. So they should understand Thibs more. Speaking of Richard Hamilton, I know he has missed a large chunk of the season, but here at the end hes playing really well, about what you would expect from him. He has won a championship with Detroit, he knows the formula for success. He has that expierence this team needed. Richard Hamilton is also a big boost from who the Bulls had last year in Keith Bogans.

3.  Why would the Heat be better prepared for the Bulls this year?

I don’t really see too much change in the Heat other then Mario Chalmers increased production and the addition of  Norris Cole I think helps the point guard poisition.

4. What’s the X factor for the Heat heading into the postseason?

Chris Bosh and how they finish close games. I don’t know what it is but Chris Bosh does not look as dominant his year. It seems like the Heat can figure out what to do all game until the closing minutes when it’s a close one. It’s the playoffs I’m pretty sure there is gonna be a fair share of close ones.

5. What’s the X factor for the Bulls heading into the postseason?

I think this one is obvious and that is Rose’s health. Keep him healthy along with the whole roster staying consistent. You have a coach of the year, amazing depth, and a MVP point guard. Not to mention a great home crowd. You got the tools now just make them work together.
